Blouse Roumaine Shop was launched in 2013 by Antoaneta Mareș and Ioana Georgescu as a response to the artisans behind the true La Blouse Roumaine.
The theme of La Blouse Roumaine, immortalized by Henri Matisse, has since become a cultural code, reinterpreted by numerous Romanian designers as a refined synonym for the ie. At the same time, many global fashion houses — including Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Valentino, Tom Ford, Isabel Marant, Carolina Herrera, Tory Burch, Altuzarra and others — have drawn inspiration from the Romanian traditional costume.
The idea took shape in 2012, when Adele appeared in Vogue wearing a blouse signed by Tom Ford. The question was immediate: why was the authentic original still inaccessible? From this moment, we envisioned a modern space where one could discover genuine pieces without the need to travel or search through vintage shops.
