A feminine, delicate and romantic traditional Romanian blouse, suitable for a bohemian outfit that makes you think of a sunny holiday. The versatility of this type of blouse and its original design have influenced the international fashion scene over the years, beginning with the hippie style of the '70s and continuing with numerous contemporary designers - such as Altuzzara, Ulla Johnson and Isabel Marant - who have appropriated and adapted this piece in their high-end folk-inspired collections.

An authentic part of Romanian folklore with rich, meticulously hand-sewn embroidery, created according to age-old craftsmanship techniques passed down from generation to generation.

Made by authentic artisans from Breaza, Muntenia, this piece was curated by BRS for its exceptional standard of execution, refined details and high-quality fabric.

- The short sleeves (~1/2 of the standard sleeve) and honeycomb-pleated collar can be adjusted to the desired size using the drawstrings;
- Can be worn tied at the base of the neck or off the shoulders;
- Total length: 65 cm | Sleeve length: 45 cm;
- Entirely hand-embroidered with the same pattern on the front and sleeves;
- Traditional motif 'The Wheel of Fortune' embroidered with light-blue silk and blue cotton threads;
- Composition: white soft homespun cloth (100% natural cotton), silk and cotton embroidery threads.

Therefore, it generally takes 20-30 days for the artisans to manufacture them, or up to 50 days for more elaborate pieces - depending on the type of embroidery and the human resource available.

However, it may sometimes happen that the item is already in the ateliers' stock at the time of your order, in which case we'll dispatch it immediately.

Please allow 3-5 business days for your order to be processed and estimate your shipping date according to this information.

Breaza is a small town in Prahova County, Romania.

From a thematic point of view, the ornamental motifs that form the decorative structure of the ies are abstract motifs with unclear thematic origin, concrete motifs inspired by nature and the environment and symbolic motifs.

The concrete motives are divided into two other groups: physiomorphic, representing phenomena from plant, animal and human life and skeomorphic, representing work tools, objects used in everyday life.

Physiomorphic motifs are divided into: phytomorphic, zoomorphic, anthropomorphic and cosmic motifs.

Phytomorphic motifs are inspired by plants, zoomorphic ones in the animal world, anthropomorphic ones are those rendered by the popular artist from his own imagination, and cosmic ones are related to celestial bodies.

According to the way they are stylized, they are divided into geometric motifs and freely drawn motifs,
and historically they are traditional or inherited motifs and newly created motifs.
Geographically, they are divided into local and immigrant motives.

The popular costume from Muntenia is wrinkled at the neck, with a ribbon, and the sleeve at the bottom ends with either a bracelet or a cuff consisting of winding the end of the sleeve and covering it with embroidery made on the thread, on the back of the sleeve, tightened with embroidered bracelet or narrow headband. This custom is also found in southern Transylvania.
